Missing the Twins

We really wanted to be able to bring Sylvie to a Twins game in the Metrodome, but during their last regular season weekend Brent had to work. So that Sunday, which was their last scheduled regular season game, we created the Dome in our house. We all wore our Twins gear and ate "Dome" food. Here is Sylvia sitting in her seat watching the game. She really went for the junk food that day...

"Oh, what should I choose first..."

We were so excited that the Twins won and got a chance to play again that Tuesday in the Dome. We couldn't pass up the chance to bring Sylvie! It was a blast!

It was such an amazing game. The place was completely packed, and of course we were in the middle of a row with a 5 week old baby! She did awesome, and I don't think the people around us even really knew she was there! She slept the whole time! Which was quite amazing because it was super loud and exciting in there. She sort of woke up once, just enough to drink her bottle and then she slipped into sweet slumber again. What a fun memory! She even got on the jumbotron momentarily. What a girl...

Miss you Twins. Miss you Dome.

She's here!

Sylvia Catherine Rogness is here! She was born on Friday, August 28th at 9:49 a.m.
She weighed 8 pounds and was 21 inches long.

This is what she looked like when she was about one hour old...

Here is our brand new family of three!

She liked her little pink hat that she got in the hospital nursery.

Snuggling with mommy and daddy on Saturday... 1 day old!

Daddy and Sylvia watched the Vikings game on Monday night, but someone got a little sleepy!

Love Letters

Here's a look at our nursery- it's not done yet, but it's getting there!

This is a look at one of the projects I've been working on. It went like this:

Step 1: Plan it all out...

Step 2: Paint all the canvas...

Step 3: Rip out tiny pieces of magazines in the colors you like and then stick them on the canvas...

Step 4: Hang them in the room with command strips so you don't have a million tiny holes in your wall!

Step 5: Take a break and listen to Brent's favorite music- Heavy Level...

Step 6: Enjoy the finished project and set up the crib!

We are still waiting for our crib skirt to be delivered and I have a lot of organizing, rearranging and other details to do, but we're making progress! Today my sister came to visit and when E saw the room he said, "Wow! This baby has a long name!" Too cute! The truth is, I would have loved to have just done her name, but we still can't decide, so her name is in the alphabet somewhere!

My regular clothes got too small in March!

May

We are excited to meet you!

Visiting one of my favorite places to eat... Ole and Lena's Pizzaria in Rothsay, MN in June.

Picnic at Lindenwood Park in June. It was a perfect night. No wind and no bugs! Amy was able to visit us on break from camp too!

I was cleaning the house this day, and noticed that it was getting a little tricky to do my regular jobs... someone was getting in the way!

The 4th of July.

We took one of our nephews to South Dakota with us for the 4th of July weekend. This is E driving the semi. He was a pro! He loved honking the horn.

This last weekend, my family all got together in Fergus Falls. Here are our nephews N and T flying on the trampoline.

What we didn't tell you then...

In case you haven't noticed, we have a tendency to use this blog as a way to announce only major events in our lives. We'll work on that.

However, there's one major event we have been keeping in reserve since our last post. We didn't tell you then, but we had also found out we were going to have a baby! Our lives really did change a lot that day.

Androcles, QuarterRoy, Beulah, or Yahtzee will be born at the end of August. Well, our name list is still evolving.
